After nearly decades on the street, Lehman/Barclays in equity derivatives, principal trading and research as the equity strategist, BlackRock in fundamental fixed income management, then back to the sellside with Guggenheim Securities in research focused on macro strategy and public policy. I started Ironsides Macro in 2019 and choose Substack as my hosting and delivery platform. It has exceeded my expectations.
I've long written reports under the title, 'It's Never Different This Time' underscoring our use of historical analogs to better inform the business cycle. We analyze economics and policy from the lens of a long-time market participant, in other words, our focus is on sustainable trends and assets we believe that are either under, or over, valued given our economic and policy outlook, as well as risks that are underappreciated by markets.
Our ~2500-word weekly enhanced by plenty of charts and tables is released on Saturday mornings followed by a podcast summarizing/simplifying the note on Monday mornings and is supplemented by additional reports when the ideas just can't wait.

I'm a 25+ year amateur investor who started publicly journaling my portfolio in late 2018. I moved those posts to Substack starting in 2020. I write mostly about company fundamentals along with the reasoning behind my investing decisions. My feature content is a monthly long-form portfolio recap which I distribute for free. However, I received enough requests over time to have recently started a small subscription tier for readers who want more real-time updates (especially around earnings).

I write a newsletter that riffs about whatever (math, education, culture) but I have a section called Money Angle where I discuss topics ranging from personal finance to derivatives pricing. I spent 21 years trading options professionally and bring that lens to even seemingly unrelated topics.

I'm a 25+ year amateur investor who started publicly journaling my portfolio in late 2018. I moved those posts to Substack starting in 2020. I write mostly about company fundamentals along with the reasoning behind my investing decisions. My feature content is a monthly long-form portfolio recap which I distribute for free. However, I received enough requests over time to have recently started a small subscription tier for readers who want more real-time updates (especially around earnings).
